The recycled nylon fabric mill finally agreed to alter the fabric free of charge to match the specs I had originally requested. I think they recognized that I wasn’t going to pay for the fabric unless it met my expectations, so it was better to fix it and get paid, than to get paid nothing and have to haul away a huge-ass roll of fabric from the port. I’m pretty happy that the outcome was good for me. It makes me feel like I can do business with these guys in the future and know that they take into account the customer’s needs.
I meet with a prospective samplemaker tomorrow– I am hoping he can make my purse organizers and laptop sleeves, he’s got a good reputation and he’s fairly close to downtown Seattle. Wish me luck!
